The members of Misioneros Auxiliares del Verbo Divino (MAVD), which celebrated their thirty-six years of existence last year, participated in the 2018 Holy Week Mission.

The Holy Week Mission is a significant activity for the MAVD since this is a momentous occasion for the members to enrich their spirituality as part of the Arnoldus Family.

Before the mission and during the mission, the MAVD members were accompanied by their SVD Advisor, SVD priests and seminarians and SSpS. They helped out in the different stages of preparation and training before going to the Holy Week Mission.

Throughout the year, all MAVD missionaries were doing formation in their base groups. According to the National Director, the different base groups work on different dynamics, especially practices that are useful for the mission, such as Lectio Divina and Bible themes for adults and children, among others.

Medicines were also collected and more importantly professionals were encouraged to join the mission, among them nurses, dentists, dental technicians, etc. This year, the MAVD had the opportunity to visit communities of the Parish of Palenque in Chiapas,
communities of Sasabe in the Tubutama Parish in Sonora, and communities in Manzanillo, Colima.

Arnoldus Nota News Service - november 2020

This month's issue of Arnoldus Nota offers a Special Report that reflects and provides insights on the Formation and Educational Institutions' journey during the pandemic. Though our formation and pastoral education have been compromised, our confreres involved in these ministries allowed themselves to think and act out of the box and face the new normal. We also have news regarding our initiatives and commitments from our Society's four zones, reflecting our characteristic dimensions. Despite all the challenges and the pandemic's continuing impact, we continue to be missionaries in the field.
