My name is Wesley Souza and I am a postulant of the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries, in Belo Horizonte - MG.   I am from the city of Alenquer, which belongs to the SVD BRA Region (Brazil Amazonas).

I began my vocational process in the community of Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro - Laguinho, rural area of Alenquer, where my parents and brothers live.

My contact with the SVD took place with greater intensity from 2015, the year in which I began the process of vocational accompaniment, which at that time we did with Brother Blasius Kindo, SVD.

In 2018, after discerning the call of God in my life, I decided to join the SVD Formation to do an eight-month experience called Aspirantate, this is the first stage of the SVD Missionaries formation.

After this period of discernment, which gave me a greater knowledge of the charism of the Congregation and the community experience, I had the desire to continue the formation process, I was approved for the next stage, which is called Postulancy.

This stage lasts for three years. It is during this period that we graduated in Philosophy in the city of Belo Horizonte. I started the Philosophy course in 2019 and will finish in 2021. In these three years of experience in SVD formation, I had many joys and excellent experiences. The training offered me many possibilities to learn and develop skills. In the Postulancy I have the opportunity to do pastoral work in one of the communities of the parish of the Divine Word, in Contagem-MG. There I had several good moments with the people of God.

The study of philosophy also opens horizons for us, makes us to question and we learn to be critical people. The daily food of our vocation is the Eucharist that we celebrate daily in our community. I could not fail to highlight community life, the strength of formation, one of the most beautiful experiences of my journey. There are countless differences between the members of the community, which is renewed every year, but we learn to live with our differences.
It is not always easy to take the next step to live what the religious life propose to us. For this reason, I ask your prayer for my life and vocation, so that I can be faithful in my response to God's call.

To all the brothers and sisters, a warm hug!
